Hi Sascha, I'm very happy to see this page appear! I look forward to more info. :-)

You might be interested in the feature-request at phab:T33221 ("Audio pronunciation: Automatic text-to-speech to convert IPA to sound") if you hadn't seen it already. As I noted there I have no expertise in this area, but I've been asking for something like this (?!) since 2010. I hope things work out well! Quiddity (talk) 19:08, 19 February 2018 (UTC)Reply

p.s. Whilst trying to find the links above (and getting very very lost in ancient discussion threads!) I found these links which might be useful: xkcd forums - IPA text to voice/sound (2008-2016 so far), chrome extension - Wikipedia IPA Speaker (I haven't tested this, because I cannot see a link to the sourcecode which always worries me.
