unwatch review
Hi, we're doing a review to make sure as many tools meet a minimum standard. I noticed unwatch tool doesn't have a published repo. Could you add this information to this tool? Thanks! Komla Sapaty (talk) 23:16, 5 July 2023 (UTC)
- @Komla Sapaty: The unwatch tool doesn’t have a webservice nor a cronjob or anything else, so there isn’t a whole lot of source code to publish. https://github.com/lucaswerkmeister/tool-unwatch/ is somewhat related, but I never got around to actually turning it into a proper tool. So far it’s just a one-off script I ran a year ago. Lucas Werkmeister (talk) 23:32, 5 July 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks, Lucas! It will still be helpful to have the github link listed. Komla Sapaty (talk) 22:45, 6 July 2023 (UTC)
- Alright, added. Lucas Werkmeister (talk) 19:37, 9 July 2023 (UTC)

Approved to join the Toolforge standards committee
Congratulations! The WMF would like to appoint you to join the Toolforge standards committee as a 2024 cohort member. The policies state that the Wikimedia Foundation's Volunteer NDA must be signed by a nominee before being appointed. We have created task T374993 to track the process of making sure that everyone has signed the NDA agreement.
If you know that you have not yet signed the Volunteer NDA, please create the initial request to start the process. If you have already signed an NDA and are a member of the WMF-NDA Phabricator project, please update the table in phab:T374993 to link to the task tracking that NDA process.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me on my talk page, by email, or on irc as appropriate. I look forward to working with you to make Toolforge better. -- BryanDavis (talk) 18:19, 17 September 2024 (UTC)
- Exciting stuff, thank you! --Lucas Werkmeister (talk) 19:05, 17 September 2024 (UTC)
Just an email notifs test
[22:42] <lucaswerkmeister> are there any known issues with sending email from wikitech by any chance?
[22:43] <lucaswerkmeister> https://wikitech.wikimedia.org/wiki/Portal:Toolforge/Changelog is on my watchlist, and I have the preference “Email me when a page or a file on my watchlist is changed” enabled (via global preferences), but I just noticed there was an edit the other day that I didn’t get an email for
[22:43] <lucaswerkmeister> (maybe GlobalPreferences got confused by the SULification of wikitech…)
[22:44] <lucaswerkmeister> (and I *think* I looked at the changelog page since my last email on 18 February, so I hope it’s not the “There will be no other notifications in case of further activity unless you visit this page while logged in” bit, but admittedly I can’t rule it out)
[23:11] < bd808> @lucaswerkmeister: Hmmm... I don't seem to have received any email notifs from Wikitech in the last 22 hours, but I'm not sure if that is missing anything or not.
[23:13] bd808 makes an edit on @lucaswerkmeister's talk page as an experiment

- This email worked, so emails in general are clearly not broken. I guess I can test on my own whether watchlist notifications in particular are working. Lucas Werkmeister (talk) 11:30, 18 April 2025 (UTC)
