WSexport stats page not working (intermittently)
Hi Jberkel You're listed as a maintainer of the tool at https://tools.wmflabs.org/wsexport/tool/stat.php. I've been trying to get stats from it for a project the Community Tech team has just started to improve reliability of wsexport, but I keep getting the error "No Web service." Actually, I have had success a few times. See the full error message below. Understanding how often the wsexport service is used, where and for which formats would be most helpful to our work. Thanks for any assistance you can offer.

- @Jmatazzoni: Hello, I've noticed that exports are not very reliable, but haven't really followed closely what's going on. I remember that there were some problems with the grid infrastructure (T178803). I suspect that the "Gateway/No Webservice" errors are simply timeouts. There were some plans to add caching (e.g. #38) but they have never been implemented. We're currently regenerating everything on every request which is obviously slow. Regarding the stats, I checked and noticed that the database query was slow because of a missing index, which I've just added, so it's a bit better now. If you're familiar with SQLite you can also download the raw stats db and analyze it locally. Otherwise just let me know what kind of aggregation you need and I can run the query for you. – Jberkel (talk) 23:40, 1 March 2019 (UTC)
