i was looking for a better unicode symbol font, because the symbola.ttf's very thin front-on image of https://emojipedia.org/unicorn-face/ was bugging me,

Font possibilities:

(I installed both. Amusingly Firefox defaults to the Noto, and Chromium to the Emojione.)

Then delete symbola.ttf from your system (might be hiding in /usr/share/fonts/truetype/ancient-scripts/ and also in ~/.fonts/) and restart Chromium (not needed for Firefox).

Now, you're ready for the
