Move this to a proper wiki

This wiki is a dead end disaster zone that should be used as little as possible. Let's put this on MW.org like all our other dev-focussed documentation is meant to be? Jforrester (talk) 18:48, 26 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

User:Jforrester That's really interesting, I was told by people to move it to wikitech because it's broader than mediawiki itself and it's not just the library. Like mw:Topic:Vm9w6p7ro6ye6c2k for Wikimedia Meet. This at least needs clarification that what's the point of this wiki and mediawiki.org. User:BryanDavis What do you think? That's flatly wrong, whoever told you that. This wiki is far, far narrower than mediawiki.org. Jforrester (talk) 20:26, 1 June 2020 (UTC)Reply
Done then. Ladsgroup (talk) 14:05, 11 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

Keep this page page on MediaWiki

I strongly suggest that this page better stays on MediaWiki. The MediaWiki server is better known, and has already a lot of (good) technical documentation -- keep everything together. One important argument is that this site is missing excellent templates like {{P}}, {{Q}}, {{SPARQL}}, and {{SPARQL2}}, that are very useful to document specific functionality. On MediaWiki a lot of API, CSS, and JavaScript documentation already exists (maybe an overview with links could be added).

We should also include a subpage with an overview of user documentation as well, and links to special Wikimedia Commons, Wikidata, and the Tools server documentation. Geertivp (talk) 09:17, 27 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

Thanks. Let's continue discussion at the above thread. Ladsgroup (talk) 16:59, 30 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
