Move Non-Readers Web projects to another Cloud VPS project?

Since the nomad and trending projects aren't officially Readers Web projects, does it make sense to move them to a distinct, personal Cloud VPS project in order to: a) distinguish what's Readers Web and what isn't; and b) free up resources.

I'm suggesting the above as an alternative to creating a new reading-web-showcase project, as we'd end up with the same number of machines anyway. With that in mind, I think this comes down to whether we want to make the distinction in a. Phuedx (talk) 10:28, 27 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

~~ Although they aren't officially Readers Web projects, they came out of our 10% time which is encouraged on the team (as is sharing). I'd like to retain Nomad to point to as an example of how wiki content can be reimagined and remixed, but I don't care much about its availability. That's why a shared host with demos on would be useful. I'm proposing using a small machine. Given Marvin is a medium machine this would free up 1 machine (and with Nomad moved onto it a whole medium machine).

As for trending, I looked into porting this to toolslabs which makes the most sense, but toolslab currently doesn't allow custom domains. I'll keep looking for a more sensible home for that machine. Given it's production usage, its reliance on OAuth and associated tokens, I've been erring on the side of caution, but we can definitely look to moving that out in the long term once I work out how. jdlrobson (talk) 19:00, 27 June 2018 (UTC)Reply
