Nova Resource:Deployment-prep/Log Files

When there are issues with Beta Cluster, looking through the log files that are produced can be very useful. The log files are located in /srv/mw-log on deployment-mwlog02.deployment-prep.eqiad1.wikimedia.cloud.

In the log directory you will find different log files, most of them are generated by MediaWiki sending message over UDP to a receiver (udp2log). Additionally we log PHP fatal errors (under error.log) and Apache errors (under apache2.log).

Wikimedia staff and volunteers with root access in the deployment-prep project can access a Logstash deployment at https://beta-logs.wmcloud.org. The access credentials needed are documented at OpenSearch Dashboards#Beta Cluster Logstash.
