How to import articles to Betawiki

This requires shell access to the deployment-prep project.


1. Export desired article(s) from a production wiki using Special:Exports, which downloads an XML file to your machine.

2. Upload the file to the deployment-deploy server (list) using SCP: scp Wikipedia-Example.xml deployment-deploy00.wikimedia.cloud

3. Log in to the latest deployment-deploy server over SSH. The file you uploaded will be here in your home directory.

4. Go to /srv/mediawiki/

5. Import dry-run mwscript importDump.php --wiki testwiki --dry-run ~/Wikipedia-Example.xml

6. Import for real

7. Rebuild Special:RecentChanges: mwscript rebuildrecentchanges.php --wiki testwiki
