Wikitech:Bureaucrats

Bureaucrats are users with the ability to:

• Add groups: Bots, Bureaucrats, Confirmed users, Content administrators, OATH validators, OAuth administrators, Shell users, Administrators and Transwiki importers
• Remove groups: Bots, Confirmed users, Content administrators, Bot users, OATH validators, OAuth administrators, Shell users, Administrators and Transwiki importers

Before the SUL migration, they used to be able to rename users. Since the SUL join, that is handled by Meta-Wiki's Global renamers and Stewards.

Appointment

Requests for bureaucrat permissions are handled in Phabricator using this task template.
