Please unban my main account--Steve (talk) 01:52, 28 February 2022 (UTC)
OK, YOU WANTED IT, now I'm going to speak ill of you, because instead of improving this project by creating templates, you start blocking users, who is going to add the sockpuppet, protected, etc. templates? NOBODY, now don't blame me, you asked for it No se 4 (talk) 19:28, 15 February 2023 (UTC)

Vandal
Hi! You’ve made a few edits earlier today, I hope you’re still around. Could you please block Praxidicae ASAP? They’re making vandal edits at an incredible speed, every minute this user is not blocked for means several more pages to clean up. —Tacsipacsi (talk) 22:46, 25 November 2023 (UTC)
Rename
Hello. I want to change my username. Would you please help me? —Md Tanbir Islam (talk) 07:04, 31 December 2023 (UTC)
Thanks!
Big thanks for helping me solve the issues with credentials for the replica databases. I'm working on https://github.com/dpriskorn/sparql-rc2 and the backend now works! So9q (talk) 11:03, 11 August 2025 (UTC)
Question about block
Hi, are you able to say anything more about what happened to trigger this block. This account has come to my attention on English Wikipedia because they seem to share some features with a banned long-term-abuse user. The account you blocked was also banned from the English Wikipedia Discord server. So, I'm curious what caused the block here. If you don't remember or can't say, that's okay. Sean.hoyland (talk) 04:33, 19 August 2026 (UTC)
- @Sean.hoyland Hi. Note the block pre-dates News/2024 Migrating Wikitech Account to SUL, so it was made to disable a developer account (which back then was done by blocking the Wikitech user) instead of being based on Wikitech activity alone. I am not willing to go into detail of the exact reasoning in public, but in general that block message refers to using WMCS resources for non-Wikimedia purposes. taavi (talk!) 12:13, 19 August 2026 (UTC)
- Okay, no problem. Thanks. Sean.hoyland (talk) 12:56, 19 August 2026 (UTC)
Toolforge Image Bot
{{toolforge latest image|mono}} is returning mono6.12, but as far as I can tell this is no longer a valid option. Should the bot be removing images that no longer exist? Ahecht (talk) 14:18, 30 September 2026 (UTC)
- @Ahecht Hi. I see
mono6.12listed ontoolforge jobs images, is it not there for you? Taavi-WMF (talk) 20:45, 30 September 2026 (UTC)- @Taavi-WMF I started down this rabbit hole when I noticed that Help:Toolforge/Web#Latest_supported_pre-built_images listed mono6.12 as one of the outputs of
toolforge webservice --help, but when I runtoolforge webservice --helpI just get the following list:- bookworm
- buildservice
- jdk21
- node18
- node20
- perl5.36
- perl5.40
- php8.2
- php8.4
- python3.11
- python3.13
- ruby3.1
- ruby3.3
- tcl8.6
- trixie
- I removed it from that help page before contacting you. Does the image exist but is just not supported by the webservice? Ahecht (talk) 21:44, 30 September 2026 (UTC)
- @Ahecht Indeed, the Mono images were added in phab:T311466 to support migrations out of the Grid Engine. None of those tools then were running a Mono-based web service, and no Toolforge admins then were familiar with the conventions around Mono-based web services so a web service image was not added. (Also, since then, the newer build service way of running jobs gained .NET support, and ongoing work in phab:T348755 is about to remove the differences in available images for webservices and other jobs.)
