waves Welcome to the community :) As you've probably figured out, a labs account is something you need to contribute code to gerrit. It's also where we host our virtual testing infrastructure. I just fulfilled your shell request on the virtual cluster; but you'll need to be added to a project before you can do anything. Like everything that's just a matter of talking and contributing.
