Current Status of Search

  • Bugzilla:45266 Patch has now been merged. Patch is in two parts, one to lucene-search2 and the other to the OAI extension. Both parts are required to remedy the issue. (An earlier version of the patch was merged in error; both parts were subsequently reverted.)
  • Bugzilla:43544 After the reorganization of search pool 4 around March 13, 2013 the problem doesn't seem to occur as often but it still does occur. We've now instrumented the code so that failures at any step on the Lucene side are not only logged but also propagated to MediaWiki (and the user) as errors rather than returning "zero results". The changes await review.
