I attended my first Wikipedia training session at the University of Edinburgh (16 August 2019), run by Ewan McAndrew.

Dr Kirsty Ross (drkirstyross)

My name is Dr Kirsty Ross and I live and work in Scotland. I am a microbiologist by training. I previously worked as Knowledge Exchange Associate for the University of Strathclyde. I now work part time at the University of St Andrews as EXPLORATHON project manager in Libraries & Museums, and Industrial Liaison Officer in the School of Computer Science. My interests include science communication, quilting (as and when I have time!), crochet and baking. I am particularly fond of snickerdoodles. Feel free to drop by and leave me a message. I also use a trainer account (Kirsty the padawan).

On 1 April 2021, Abd Alsattar Ardati, Sara Thomas, and I founded the IDEA Network at the University of St Andrews. The Inclusion, Diversity, Equity & Accessibility in Open Knowledge Network aims to make Wikipedia a more inclusive place by building capacity and filling in some of the gaps.

You can find us on Twitter[1] and Facebook[2].

Conflict of Interest

I am an employee at the University of St Andrews. I will not make any edits that would not beneficial to the goals of Wikipedia.

I also have a vanilla account that I use for training purposes (Kirsty the padawan).
