The most glorious moments in your life are not the so-called days of success, but rather those days when out of dejection and despair you feel rise in you a challenge to life, and the promise of future accomplishments. - Gustave Flaubert

About me

Prior to joining the Wikimedia Foundation in October 2013, I worked as a marketing associate at a small nonprofit devoted to financial education, and was a new contributor to Wikipedia as a result of research in my spare time. As a UC Berkeley graduate in History and English, I spend most of my time researching French female cultural figures of the 16th-19th centuries. I am a lover of old books and the humbling vastness of nature, and I explore both as often as I can.

My work

I am an employee of the Wikimedia Foundation. You can contact me at my user page on meta:https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/User:CCogdill_(WMF). I manage all fundraising email campaigns, sending email to over 30 countries in more than 20 languages, and raising about 25% of our overall budget. I am working on expanding the kinds of communications we send so that we do a better job of stewarding a valuable relationship with our donors. If you're in the Wikimedia movement and want help or advice with bulk email, send me a message!

Disclaimer: Although I work for the Wikimedia Foundation, contributions under this account do not necessarily represent the actions or views of the Foundation unless expressly stated otherwise. For example, edits to articles or uploads of other media are done in my individual, personal capacity unless otherwise stated.
