Broken process of creating a new account on Gitlab

From what I've gathered, using my dev account, I should be able to just use Gitlab out of the box. Instead I get this message:

"Your account is pending approval from your GitLab administrator and hence blocked. Please contact your GitLab administrator if you think this is an error."

So...

1. What is the expected waiting time for account approval?
2. Is there some place I can apply to get my gitlab account accepted quicker?
3. Can I supply some info to make the process smoother?
4. Where can I "contact your GitLab administrator"? Is this talk page a good place? 😉
