Wikitech account attached to SUL
Your Wikitech account has been attached to the SUL account you associated it with using toolsadmin.wikimedia.org or idm.wikimedia.org. You should now be able to login to wikitech.wikimedia.org using your SUL account in the same way you would login to any other Wikimedia project wiki. -- BryanDavis (talk) 00:06, 6 February 2025 (UTC)

Long temporary block
Hi,
Given that developer accounts are now seperate from Wikitech, couldn't Uid=naypta,ou=people,dc=wikimedia,dc=org be changed to an indef? As it's a bit long compared to the others on the temporary block list :P --Nintendofan885 (talk) 21:40, 1 July 2025 (UTC)

Interface administrator request
I'm trying to update a gadget and I can't. May I please have this user right? Thanks. ―Justin (koavf)❤T☮C☺M☯ 14:56, 2 September 2025 (UTC)
- @Koavf: Which gadget are you hoping to work on? Is the change needed just copying in a newer version of the code from another wiki? I guess I am wondering if things can be handled by you telling an existing interface-admin what to change or if your project is going to require longer term involvement. If you do want to go forward with the permissions request then I think we should follow the precedent of turning your request into a Phabricator task like phab:T344375. -- BryanDavis (talk) 16:15, 2 September 2025 (UTC)
- I was just trying to update the HotCat gadget. If you think that a phab ticket is best, I will go with that. If you think that leaving it to existing interface admins is best, I will go with that. I am happy to follow your judgement. ―Justin (koavf)❤T☮C☺M☯ 20:06, 2 September 2025 (UTC)
- I made phab:T403553 to track the need to upgrade the local copy of HotCat here on wikitech. I think in this case we can side load it from commons directly like enwiki does and git rid of most of the maintenance burden going forward. Thanks for thinking about this stuff! -- BryanDavis (talk) 21:00, 2 September 2025 (UTC)
- Sounds good. Thanks. ―Justin (koavf)❤T☮C☺M☯ 22:04, 2 September 2025 (UTC)
- The gadget is side loaded from commons now. Thanks again for the nudge to update it. -- BryanDavis (talk) 23:47, 2 September 2025 (UTC)

Toolforge Error
Good morning, the "Toolforge interwiki link redirector" tool managed by iw is not working. When I click both the "edit count" and "edit summary usage" buttons (from Template:Userpageinfo, substituted onto my Wikipedia user page), I receive a 404 Not Found error page that has directed me to your talk page. I don't know if this is an issue specific to me, or if this has a broader impact, but I figured I would at least let you know! Thank you in advance for your time and help. TNstingray (talk) 13:51, 28 October 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks for the notice. There was a software upgrade in Toolforge earlier today that is somehow incompatible with the way I setup the iw tool. The change has been reverted for now. I will be working on a fix at phab:T408570. -- BryanDavis (talk) 14:44, 28 October 2025 (UTC)
