static.wikipedia.org was a web service that hosted static html snapshots for community use. It was in use by Wikimedia before 2009.
An Apache instance on hume was used to serve static files generated by DumpHTML, which was a MediaWiki extension installed on Wikimedia app servers.

Be careful as running the dumpHTML.php maintenance script will write to wgUploadPath and start overwriting things, which you might not want to do on the cluster.
