Options for fighting bots/scrapers in Toolforge and Cloud VPS
We need more observability on the traffic patterns
We could reuse some Lua script used in production to filter haproxy traffic (with some tweaks)
Requestctl is harder to reuse/adapt because a lot of it is tied to production use cases
Could we put Toolforge/Cloud VPS behind the CDN? Technically yes, but there are concerns about the reputation of the IPs being affected by “bad” content hosted in WMCS
Toolforge on Metal updates
NFS tracing is currently live and ingesting data into Loki that is viable in a Grafana dashboard. We need at least a month of data to cover most use cases as some tools run at specific times.
Network tracing is currently WIP, more updates at the next meeting.
K8s upgrade progress
TV: ingress-nginx no longer blocking this, need to test the upgrade in lima-kilo next
Push to deploy beta
Work is ongoing, but slowly as David is on leave until February. Francesco and Raymond are working on some MRs.
