k8s upgrade

  • David is working on the next upgrade (1.30). Kyverno had to be upgraded first, which was tricky. The wmcs-k8s-metrics component is currently being upgraded. Then we’ll finally be able to upgrade k8s.
  • After we upgrade k8s to 1.30, we should be able to remove Kyverno and use the native VAP instead.

Push to deploy beta

  • Fixed some bugs
  • Now it’s possible to specify the deployment configuration in the GitLab repo. It’s possible that this has some edge cases where GitLab’s cache will return a cached version of the configuration, to be verified.

Sustainability score

  • Komla’s wikitech account is not working so the draft is currently published on meta.wikimedia.org.
  • The next step is to collect feedback from Toolforge admins, before we finalize the framework.

Harbor moved to s3

  • Tools-harbor is now using S3 storage (Object Storage)
  • This will enable the option of moving Harbor to K8s
