Sitemap access is restricted as of January 2026 to verified crawlers, trusted networks (like Toolforge), and requests attributed to an actor via JWT tokens (such as OAuth clients logged-in with MediaWiki).

If you receive this error please comply with our Bot traffic policy, which requires a verified IP-range and a User-Agent header that follows our User Agent Policy.
Bots that run in service of the community may be be hosted in Toolforge or Wikimedia Cloud Services instead, which are explicitly exempted from this restriction.
